Luviney (Vinnie) Brewer was the first child born to Robert and Emiline.  A beautiful woman, she married Samuel Gathings. This family branch is remarkable because of the number of doctors and other professionals born just one generation out of slavery. Think about it. Slaves were prevented from reading and writing, but Vinne produced sons who were renown professionals in the health field. Robert  and Roosevelt were physicians; John was a pharmacist; Spofford became a dentist.
